Pricing varies for each of our lease ponies.  Each pony/horse is unique and all have different natures, rides, strengths and experience.  Generally our prices range from $600 per month to $1600 per month all inclusive.  The average lease will sit at $1000 - $1200 per month.

Please note that prices are subject to change, we are currently experiencing a drought in Victoria which means Hay is scarce and prices have increased dramatically.  These types of variables will affect lease prices.

Training

Each Lessee will have an "inhouse" grading assessment that will give the lessee parameters that are safe to do independently with their lease pony or horse.  If the lessee wishes to ride at a higher level, we will do another grading session in your lesson to assess and give a new training plan moving forward.

You are able to come and see your horse any time, any day.

Typically horses can be ridden 3-5 times a week.  However riding plans depend on consistency of lessee and fitness of horse.

Horses are typically ridden for 45 minutes, this includes 15 minutes of warm up, half an hour of riding and then you can ride for another 15 minutes to cool down your horse (many lessees take them on a trail).  This of course can be flexible but a good general basis to follow.

We always endeavor to act in the best interest of the horse at all times.

If the weather is exceeding 28 degress you should aim to ride in early morning or late evening.  Anything much higher is to hot to ride in for the horse with out a strict hot weather management.  Horses must be cared for in heat e.g. hosed down, access to water in yards.

Windy & Stormy weather is best to avoid if possible.  Horses cope in rain much better than wind, wind affects their hearing and can make the quietest horses flighty, making it unsafe.  If the weather turns into a storm with lightening riding is prohibited.

Riding School Ponies offer a great start to horse riding.  They are trained to deal with multiple riders a day of different ages, weights, heights and levels of training.  They put up with unbalanced riders pulling, kicking and bumping around and take it in their stride (these ponies do a fantastic job). Their job is to help a new rider feel safe, balanced and comfortable on a horse whilst allowing them to learn the basics of riding.  Such as halting, walk, trot, canter, steering, poles and low level jumping.

The horses we have here are very different from your average riding school pony or horse.

The horses we have are the  performance pony or horse you may dream to buy one day.  They have been specifically bred for performance and have impressive natural ability, technique and scope.

They have been hand picked for equestrian disciplines such as Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing.  They receive a formal education and have a performance edge whilst having wonderful temperaments.

These horses bond with their one rider (lessee) and the combination forms a formidable partnership that builds over time.

Our lessees realise quite quickly how different performance ponies and horses can be to the riding school ponies.

A huge difference is Riding School Ponies & Horses may be ridden 4-5 days a week, but within each day ridden multiple times by multiple riders.  These ponies have an important job to do , however, this can make them sour and tired and not mimic a typical experience of a horse.

When you have your own lease pony, no one will have ridden it before you (unless you've booked a trainer to ride your horse).  They know who their rider is and they adjust to your level of riding whether lower than they were at previously or you asking them to level up.

Horses that bond with their riders much prefer when their rider rides them.  This keeps them happy and helps keep the training progressing not regressing.
